What is a ñandú anyway?

It’s a big bird (almost the height of a human) native to South America. It doesn’t fly and it’s not particularly beautiful, but it runs fast. And, just like our boat, it lacks a keel.

Why ñandú? We’re from South America as well, and we like ñandús. We also love the sound of the word: short and sweet. The u in ñandú has a diacritical mark that looks like a seed. And the letter ñ honors the richness of our mother tongue.
